Georgia Uncontested Divorce Lawyer

Rings

For a divorce to be defined as uncontested, you and your spouse must agree on all applicable essential issues in advance of divorce proceedings. Basically, this means that both of you sign a marital Settlement Agreement that we prepare for you after thoroughly discussing all aspects of your case with you. These include marital assets and property division, debt allocation, child custody (including a detailed parenting plan), and spousal and child support (including the mandatory child support worksheet). If you and your spouse can agree on these issues, you have a very good chance of completing your uncontested divorce even if you and your spouse have a few outstanding minor disagreements (or just uncertainties) when you first contact us. We have found that over 80% of our clients who come to us and honestly believe that they can have an uncontested divorce are correct and they ultimately terminate their marriage efficiently, inexpensively and without the public intervention of a judge who does not know them or their cases as well as they themselves do.

Uncontested divorces are the fastest, cheapest, and least stressful way to divorce. Few divorce cases, including uncontested divorces, are free from disagreement. In a no contest divorce, however, the disagreements are worked out prior to filing, thus simplifying the divorce proceedings, lowering their costs, and keeping much of the information about your personal lives out of the proceedings and off the public record.

Minimize Your Costs, Time, and Stress

With any divorce, decisions must be agreed upon, and disputes are almost inevitable. Assets must be divided, and custody and support issues must be arranged.

At the Law Office of Robert L. Jones, we have worked hard to create and offer the best possible solution to people going through the complicated and often painful process of divorce. We believe that divorce should be inexpensive and fast, to minimize problems at an already difficult time. We also believe that, while difficult decisions must be made, the decision process can often be simplified.

Divorcing couples must make decisions regardless of the involvement and opinions of attorneys and courts. Couples often have a "gut feeling" for what is fair and what will work for all members of their family. They also ultimately hold the power to make decisions regarding their divorce.

Contested or Uncontested: You Decide

We recommend that every couple seeking a divorce first use all means possible to work out mutual terms, either between the two of them, or by arbitration or mediation. This will save on time, money, and stress, and free you from a lengthy and expensive court battle. Once basic decisions are made and the marital Settlement Agreement has been signed by you and your spouse, you can file for divorce and be done in as little as five weeks. No sheriff will come to serve papers on your spouse and all documents are completed in privacy and with dignity.

Our uncontested divorce services are professional and fast, and our fees are low and flat.  Our fees are:

  • $425 for uncontested divorce with no minor children
  • $850 to $1,250 for uncontested divorce with minor children
